Andrew Pearce's Recovery

Andrew was hit by rockfall while climbing in Potrero Chico. His right leg is severely injured and will need extensive surgeries. He has an open fracture of his tibia and fibula with multiple large wound defects of his calf. His medical care is going to require multiple surgeries for the fractures as well as plastic surgeries for his leg. He is currently in a hospital in Monterrey, Mexico. He has had his first surgery in Mexico where they placed an external fixator to stabilize the fractures and a wound vac due to concern of infection. We hope to be able to fly him home in the next week for his continued medical care.

Andrew has a spirit that cannot be contained. He likes to practice hard math problems, romp around in the mountains, and float down rivers. He also has such a joy and love about him that spreads to everyone he meets. Andrew is the best brother we could ever dream of (Bo you are too).
