Andrew Ruddock

Hi, my name is Sarah Love (soon to be changing it to Ruddock). I met my late husband, Andrew Ruddock, on an international dating website. He was from the UK while I reside in the US. After some initial stumbles through cultural differences, we fell in love and started becoming more important to each other. Andrew visited the US several times, getting to know my family and friends. During one of these trips, he got down on one knee and proposed, of course I said yes! Andrew and I were married on September 3rd, 2023 after dating long distance for 5 and a half years. Andrew was diagnosed with a rare form of terminal bladder cancer earlier in the summer of 2023. He was set to receive 12 weeks of chemotherapy but had a terrible reaction to the first round which ended him up in the hospital with diabetic keto acidosis as well as a bladder infection and pulmonary embolism. After his second round, he wasn’t feeling well so his mum took him for some bloodwork and his numbers weren’t good so he was admitted to the hospital. Shortly after being admitted, he collapsed and went into cardiac arrest, CPR was performed and he was brought back momentarily but his heart gave up again. This next round of CPR was not successful. With this tragic unfolding of events, we didn’t have time to save for a proper funeral. I would like to give him a wonderful send off but I need some help. Andrew was a great guy who loved football, our dogs, punk music and anything Adidas. He was generous often buying the homeless meals. He made me want to be a better person and provide a better life for him and I. So I went back to school to become a nurse, he was my biggest cheerleader. He was hilarious and could talk for hours to a complete stranger. He was warm and welcoming. He will be truly missed by his family, friends and community.
