Help Andrew Baker in the FIGHT for his LIFE
Donation protected
On Saturday March 20th, 2021 my dearest brother Andrew, collapsed at the finish line of Jacksonville’s 15k River Gate Run. He suffered multiple cardiac arrhythmias literally and thankfully as he crossed the finished line and collapsed right there in front of the medical tent and had to be resuscitated three times on the way to UF Health Jacksonville.
Andrew’s MRI scans returned with results showing a TBI (Traumatic Brain Injury) and widespread swelling on his brain, and Rhabdomyolysis and as the Neurologists said "This is a worst case scenario". Andrew is now in the great hands of the neuro ICU and is being taken care of by a TEAM of hero's. Andrew at this time is on Dialysis 24/7 to help his kidneys and liver and to ease the burden while his body is recovering. He is on a Ventilator, and at this time however he is breathing OVER the machine, which is HUGE.
He is literally fighting for his life, and has shown us all the WARRIOR (we all knew) he is. Andrew is fit, healthy and leads a life of purpose daily using every ounce of energy in his body for uplifting others. To know him is to LOVE him. Just a moment in his presence is like standing in H E A V E N.While we know that this is going to be a very long road ahead, we have put our faith in the Lord and are optimistic as we sit patiently and wait for what’s to come.
TBI recovery at Andrew’s level is alllll about Patience. We live in a world where we get answers instantly with ease, sadly this is not the case when recovering from a TBI.
The next days to weeks will be a waiting game as his incredible medical team stands guard on the frontline and make “audibles” as things go along. Andrew’s vitals are strong.
Andrew's immediate needs right now are undoubtedly PRAYER, patience and LOVE that is unceasing.
As Andrew continues to heal, we are beginning to understand what his medical needs will be long term. As the days to weeks unfold we know that the specialized care he is receiving will far out weigh his policy limits with his insurance, with United Health Care.
The immediate costs that we will be responsible for are; his deductible (15k) , Lodging for our family as we travel to and fro Jacksonville among many MANY other things.
If you are so able we are on our knees as we ask for donations to help with the mounting expenses as we all RALLY and fight like HELL (and pray like never before) for the one and ONLY Andrew Baker!!!
Please keep praying for my brother, the light of what feels like the world. If there were ever a person to find their way from the darkness and back into the light it is my dearest brother bear- Andrew.
Andrew’s army is so amazing. I have been reading all of your messages to him and I look forward to and pray for the day we will all be able to feel his warm embrace, see his ear to ear infectious smile and hear that voice and laugh again.
Don’t stop believing, God works miracles and I truly believe that Andrew was spared as he could've left us last Saturday. He is a living testament and we pray that we might witness more miracles in the coming days to months, of course in God’s time.
Please keep wearing GREEN, wear fun socks and keep jamming out to classic rock, reggae, soul, EDM, sing queen at the top of your lungs and send every single ounce of positive energy and groovy dance move to Andrew. Keep saying his name out loud!!!
He is OUR fighter!!!
From the depths of our souls we thank you for supporting us and most importantly Andrew. We are so grateful to God for the blessings of each day.
Andrew he feels so very loved, as do we
