Andrew J Green - medical expenses
Donation protected
On the night of April 12th, Andrew and some of his friends were hanging out. Andrew jumped onto the hood of a car, and the driver started driving. This is often referred to as a type of "Car Surfing".
They went too fast (about 22 mph) making a sharp turn. Andrew fell off the car landing on the pavement head first. He suffered a seizure and fractured his skull in addition to having severe trauma to the head.
He is currently in ICU at North Memorial Hospital in Richfield MN on a breathing tube, in a coma, and hooked up to many wirers and tubes. He has had surgery to remove part of his skull to relieve pressure on his brain. He had 2 CT scans and will undergo an MRI to help determine if there are any further issues needed to be addressed.
We are asking for money to help with medical costs. As you can guess these will be staggering in the amount.
We do not know when he will wake up, but hope to see his smiling face soon.
Earlier that day Andrew competed in a band solo. He got a superior in his solo scoring 38 out of 40. He was to leave on a trip to Chicago with the choir and set to perform in the Spring Musical. He is very talented young man. He was set to graduate this spring as well.
I want to stress that these are good kids. Andrew did not smoke, drink or do drugs. He was well liked by others, the school mascot and tolerant and understanding of the differences in others.
He was caught up in the moment and made a very bad decision. Both he and the driver did.
If possible, please make a donation to his go fund me account. We (his family and friends) thank you from the bottom of our hearts for all of your support. Your thoughts, prayers, and encouraging words have been greatly appreciated.
