Andrew's big run for Louie

Hi my name is Andrew and I have set up this donation page to raise funds for two fantastic charities - The Archie Foundation and The Ronald McDonald House Glasgow.

On 9th September 2023, my partner gave birth to our wonderful son Louie at just 28 weeks.

Over the course of the 4 months Louie spent in hospital, we received fantastic care and support from everyone at The Aberdeen Maternity Hospital and Neonatal Unit, The Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow and two above-mentioned organizations.

The two charities play a crucial role in supporting families in some of their toughest and darkest times:

The Archie Foundation is responsible for many things among providing additional equipment in the Neonatal Unit, transport for families who have appointments in the hospital, specialist training and equipment for the families who need it and of course making the Children's hospital as enjoyable as possible with various activities and events.

The Ronald McDonald House in Glasgow very kindly accommodates families in a safe, comfortable living space on the hospital grounds whilst their child is being cared for. The House is run by a private charity and relies on the generosity of the public to allow it's great work to continue. The most incredible part of the house, is that it is completely free of charge for the families who stay there, relieving the financial stress on top of all else.

On June 1st 2024 at 7am, I will embark on a 165 Mile journey from Ronald McDonald House in Glasgow, and run non-stop until I reach The Royal Aberdeen Children's hospital. A little over 6 marathon's back to back, will see me run for over 30 hours in an attempt to raise as much money as possible to give back a tiny piece of what I have received.
