Andrew’s volunteer trip to Haiti

Hello! my name is Andrew from Irvine, California. I am 15 years old I’ll be going on an outreach to Haiti with my sister Joy, 17 years old. Both of us are high school students in Irvine and we have made a decision to take a year off to experience what my friends normally wouldn’t. We are prayerfully hoping that our time in Haiti will open our eyes to different values and perspectives, and that the experience will grant us Christ’s hearts for our lives, others, and the nations.

We will be teaching English to kids living in Casaine, a slum area of Haiti. They live in extreme poverty where access to even one meal a day is a struggle. Since the literacy rate in Haiti is really low, there is a dire need for basic education, let alone learning a different language. My sister and I will be staying at the house of Mr. Wolim Kim, who is a missionary and also the leader of Serving Friends International, a NGO which serves people suffering from AIDS, calamities, and poverty.

We are thrilled about this life-changing experience that lie ahead, and we hope to raise as many supporters who are willing to send us not only in finances but in commitment to prayers. Your financial donations will be used for travel expenses, living cost, and class supplies needed for teaching the kids. Our goal is to raise all the funds before February 2018, but later donations would also be greatly appreciated.
