Andrew’s Mobile Stair Lift
Andrew Blackney was out running when he was struck by a driver who ran a red light while Andrew was using the crosswalk.
His injuries include compound tibia fractures in his right leg, both femur and tibia fractures in his left leg, cracked hip and shoulder, ulnar fractures in his left arm, orbital fractures and optic neuropathy. His front teeth were snapped. He had over a hundred staples in his legs just from road rash. He has titanium rods in both legs, and plates in his hip and shoulder.
It turns out that there are many expenses that insurance does not cover. Andrew has had to rent a hospital bed and purchase a number of supplies since he was sent home from the hospital. The biggest of these is the mobile stair lift, which was necessary since his front door is too high off street level to install a ramp.
So far, the medical bills from the collision are $45,000 and climbing.
Our goal is to raise half of the $2795 for the mobile stair lift.
Andrew hopes to be walking again by Christmas of this year!
