Celebration Of Life: Remembering Andrie West

Donation protected
Tragically, on May 4th, 2024, Andrie West made the heartbreaking decision to end her own life. The pain she carried was hidden behind her smile, and we never truly knew the depths of her struggle.

Andrie was just seventeen years old, but her impact on those around her was immeasurable. Her best friend and confidant was her older brother, AJ, who shared countless memories and secrets with her. They were inseparable, and their bond was unbreakable. AJ just completed his freshman year at Michigan State University, and we have no doubt Andrie's love for AJ was a main driver in his ability to overcome any and all challenges he faced.

Andrie’s presence extended far beyond her family. She was a beloved member of our community, making friends effortlessly at Cousino High School. Whether it was on the tennis team or the swimming team, Andrie’s passion and dedication for her teams and sports shone through. Her athletic prowess was matched only by her kindness and compassion. She cheered on her teammates, celebrated their victories, and lifted them up during defeats.

But Andrie was more than a natural athlete. She was an artist. Her sketches and drawings captured the essence of life, revealing emotions and stories that words alone could not convey. She shared this gift through personal drawings, hand-made cards, and more for her family and friends. Her talent was a gift to us all, and we will forever cherish the beauty she brought into our lives.

Growing up Andrie and AJ moved countless times as their father was a marine, and their mother in the army. As a result, they rarely had family around, and had the challenge of making new friends every year as they switched schools to accommodate the needs of the army. But one thing stayed persistent, and that was Andrie and AJ always had each other.

Andrie leaves behind her mom, dad, a baby brother, brother, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends who loved her dearly. We remember her laughter, her wit, and her unwavering spirit. As we gather today, let us celebrate her life and raise funds to cover the funeral costs. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference. Together, we can honor Andrie’s memory and ensure that she rests in peace.

We ask that you please consider donating to help cover funeral expenses. Your generosity will help ease the burden on her family during this difficult, emotional time. Let us remember Andrie not only for her accomplishments but also for the love she shared with us all. Lastly, as we mourn her loss, we must also remember that mental health matters.

Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference. Together, we can honor Andrie’s memory and ensure that she rests in peace.
