Andy Vick

I am posting this Go Fund me in support of good friends Andy and Melissa Vick. Their story is below, in Melissa's (Emme's) words.

Our love story began in 10th grade where Andy's skateboarding, hockey-playing swagger wooed me and we’ve been together ever since. He’s the love of my life.

Andy, like many suffering from mental illness, has been downplaying the worsening of his illness and trying desperately to figure out things on his own. Sadly, things continued to get worse and out of desperation, Andy started to plan for his own death, by suicide. Thankfully, even at his lowest, Andy reached out to me for help. He allowed me in and together, we made the difficult decision to place him in inpatient care.

He is safe. He is getting help. He is so loved. As you can imagine, this help comes with a significant cost, and one that is amplified because Andy doesn’t have health insurance. It’s a cost that is far beyond our means. We are reaching out to our friends and family to ask you to contribute to our efforts to continue getting Andy the help he needs.

In the meantime, Andy is doing the hard emotional work to heal himself so that he can again be in the company of those he loves and enjoy a life that is full of possibility.
