Andy & Laura

Hi everyone I'm fund-raising for my amazing aunty & uncle. My uncle Andy has been in the Alfed hospital for the last 6 weeks fighting for his life.

 In 2009 Andy was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma and given 3 years at best. He's undergone a stem cell & bone marrow transplant . A by product of the transplant Andy developed graft vs host disease which essentially wrecked his lungs and he required a double lung transplant to survive. He was given the gift of new lungs on 29th April 2023 ( his birthday) all was going well until the last few weeks. He's now contracted a rare fungus infection which is proving very tricky to treat. The fungus has already taken the sight in one of his eyes and we are praying that a trial drug hes been approved for can stop this hideous infection.  His amazing wife Laura has been by his side 24/7  and has been unable to work .  Andy is now home however still has a huge mountain to climb. As you can imagine this is a huge financial strain on the family & any help is truly appreciated. Thank you xxx
