Help Andy Mac rehabilitate

Donation protected
UPDATE:
We have smashed our initial benchmark in 8 hours, for this reason it has been increased purely to allow those who haven't seen it yet or those that indend to give the opportunity to do so, Andy and ourselves are incredibly humbled by the pace at which everyone rallied around this and we remain incredibly grateful.
This has already allowed for big steps today with Leigh securing a bungalow to allow Andy home as Covid and staffing issues prevent prolonged stay in hospital, this will be a short term measure whilst Andy gets back on his feet.

Andy Mac was seriously injured on September 4th in a motorbike accident & air lifted to the Royal Hospital in Belfast. He has undergone several reconstruction surgeries on his legs & plastic surgery on his arm & has also sustained broken ribs, vertebrae & psychological trauma. He remains in major trauma unit.

As everyone knows, the NHS is under extreme pressure right now. Ordinarily, Andy would be transferred to an orthopaedic fracture ward to continue his aftercare until he was able to start his rehabilitation to walk again. Due to Covid 19 & staff shortages we are under daily increasing pressure to bring Andy home.

His fiancé, Leigh, is currently looking to rent a bungalow that would be suitable for Andy to leave hospital wheelchair bound.

From there she will take a step down from her own self employed job, to help care for him.

When Andy leaves the care of the health trust, he will be unable to access any more of the vital trauma counselling that he has been given, so we are hoping to continue this privately.

We also know how beneficial oxygen therapy is to aid recovery & we aim for Andy to attend a centre in Larne, so we can get him back on his feet even quicker.

We also need to rent the use of a wheelchair until such times as Andy is able to walk again.

Andy is a self employed plumber, so he will be out of work indefinitely until his recovery is complete.

Any amount donated will be used for rehabilitation costs & the rent of a suitable home. Anything unused, will be donated back to a suitable motorbike or emergency charity.

Andy is such a kind & well-loved character he does so much for other people. Usually, he would be the one raising money for charities. So please help him.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read this & we greatly appreciate anything you can donate to help with his recovery process.
