Help Andy Mesaros with medical expenses

This past summer, Andy wasn’t feeling well and sought guidance from his doctors. Late summer, Andy entered the hospital for testing and initially spent nearly forty-five days there. He ultimately was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL.) Since then, he has endured several rounds of chemotherapy. He is being treated at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA, for his second round of chemotherapy in January. He will be in and out of the hospital over several weeks to months as he fights to beat his cancer.

Andy is a fighter and is handling his diagnosis with positive thoughts and a smile, as he has handled nearly every obstacle he has encountered throughout his life. Multiple rounds of chemotherapy, prolonged hospital stays, and home healthcare needs mean that costs are mounting at a steady pace for Andy and his family.

When Andy was diagnosed, he was winding down on a successful career as Public Safety Consultant. He dedicated nearly his entire career to working to support public safety. Andy is a volunteer firefighter and current treasurer for the Highland Volunteer Fire Department in McCandless, PA. Andy is also a former Scoutmaster—he currently volunteers his time as a troop advisor for Western Pennsylvania’s Seneca District, Laurel Highlands Council. He was also recently awarded the Silver Beaver Award for volunteers that have had an impact in scouting. He has volunteered so much of his life to help others; it is our turn to do the same for him.
