Andy Morrell and Kailey Garland were both so excited to get married and they were not going to let the pandemic get in the way of their wedding on 08/08/2020. Unfortunately, on the night of June 2, 2020 Andy passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly, leaving behind Kailey and their 6-month-old baby, Theo Jackson Morrell.
Andy was one of the most generous, empathetic and caring individuals. He wanted to donate his Stimulus Check to the Denver Food Bank. Recently, one of his clients was severely injured after trying to stop a vandal in his store. Andy was trying to find a creative way to help them financially, but within policy, so that the man’s wife could close the store an hour early to get rest. If you needed a favor, Andy was the one to call.
He relished his role as father. He showed his love for Theo the way he showed his love for Kailey- without boundaries. He could not wait to get home from work to his family and he had plans to teach Theo how to play basketball, grow a garden, ride a bicycle and be a good and caring man. He and Kailey had made plans about where they would travel and the adventures they would share as a family. They were excited for more kids later on.
This is such a devastating tragedy. But as with all life experiences, we have a way to create a positive legacy for Theo from this. You can honor Andy by contributing to a college fund for his son, Theo. Whether Andy was your friend, colleague, neighbor or family member, you can be a part of his legacy by helping make sure Theo’s higher education is provided for, as this was important to both Kailey and Andy.
Thank you for your outpouring of love and kindness at this difficult time.
