Andy Palmer
Andrew 'Andy' Palmer 1983-2021
"Uncle Andy, Pork Chop, Tractor Tom, Andy Pandy, Mandy, John Candy"
Andy unfortunately has been tragically killed in a truck accident in Holland on the 20th December 2021, Andy has been driving trucks since 2006 with a exemplary career, driving all over the world in some of the most dangerous conditions with the heaviest of loads, abnormal loads and his favourite convoi exceptionnel. Andy is very highly regarded amongst the trucking community and in his memory, we have decided as family and friends to raise some money to help support other drivers and their families.
On average 1040 drivers who are working within the trucking industry are killed on roads and over 11,000 are injured in England every year, its now classed as one of the top 5 most dangerous jobs you can do! these figures are so hard to comprehend for everyone and increase substantially to the families and loved ones of these drivers who are directly impacted as a direct result of both injuries and fatalities.
these people like Andy are the cogs of society, economy and industry that make the impossible possible for all of us, with unhealthy working conditions, missing out on family life and working continuously throughout the worldwide Covid pandemic without a second thought to their own safety.
The charity we have chosen in Andy's memory is Globe truckers, as they recognise the sacrifices truckers make and provide support and help needed within this industry, they have been in contact with us and said in Andy's memory they will be naming one of there own trucks after him, this is a great honour and anyone who knows Andy would know he would absolutely love the idea of having a truck named after him, so as his friends, family and loved ones lets raise as much as we can
