When perusing the GoFundMe website, their mission statement, and yes possibly catchphrase, states “People around the world are raising money for what they are passionate about.” Well, if we are honest, we are passionate about Andy.
Andy is ordained in the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church, has been the director of RER - Rockdale Emergency Relief ( https://www.rockdaleemergencyrelief.org/),
and worked at MUST Ministries (https://www.mustministries.org/). Andy currently remains involved, when he is up to it, in the praise and worship service at Salem United Methodist Church. His voice and guitar style is a favorite draw among Salem’s members, reminiscent of the 1960s, the Birds? Perhaps Peter Paul, and Mary? Regardless, Andy continues to serve. We love him for it.
In truth, if you are reading this, you perhaps know Andy. Any number of platitudes we might give will not raise your esteem for this incredible young man; he has done that on his own. We have seen Andy in action, volunteered with him when we could, loved hearing him speak when we had the opportunity. Andy is a servant; Andy is an extraordinary teacher; Andy is a wonderful son, brother, and friend.
You may be aware of the fact that Andy currently has colon cancer.
Andy has what “they” (Doctors in the know) are calling a “low stage three” colon cancer. His medical team is treating his cancer aggressively, and this is certainly taking its toll on Andy. Andy's medical bills have been extensive and he is currently unable to hold a full-time job due to the aggressive treatment. His insurance premiums alone are staggering but the bills have kept climbing with continued treatment.
We cannot pretend to be as well versed as anyone in the medical field, or the Peabody Family for that matter, on this subject. If you would like to learn more about Andy’s diagnosis, treatment, and his courageous? fearless? valiant (!!) journey we invite you to visit his journal at the Caring Bridge website (https://www.caringbridge.org/visit/andypeabody/journal).
We are here to shamelessly ask you for your financial support.
Anyone who has ever dealt with any major illness, and many times a minor illness or injury, knows there are many unforeseen medical expenses that certainly add up. Uncovered fees, uncovered medications, additional travel expenses, special dietary requirements; these expenses add up. These expenses definitely take away from one’s peace of mind. So often that peace of mind is what is necessary to recover. We, friends and family of Andy, would like to help him have that peace of mind.
We would like to give Andy the peace of mind he has given, not only the strangers in his life, but also to us, his friends and family.
Let’s ease his load.

O most merciful redeemer,
friend and brother,
May I Know thee more clearly,
Love thee more dearly,
& Follow thee more nearly,
day by day.
