Andy Perry

Many of you know my son Andy Perry and are probably wondering where and why he has not been posting his food blogs or his many funnies he has become known for. On 1/19 he had sudden onset of chest and shoulder pain which did not ease. He was taken to Walton Piedmont,where he had x-rays and CT scan. The doctors were unable to find any serious problems except for very high blood pressure. During the following week he continued to worsen, he returned to hospital where they found he had pneumonia and had to insert a chest tube to drain his left lung. He was in ICU for 3 days but by the 5th day at Monroe the doctors decided he needed further care than he could get in Monroe. He was taken (by ambulance) to Athens Piedmont and taken to surgery last Friday. They had to remove the upper portion of left lung, repair a hole, insert 2 chest tubes and do an incision to clean his chest cavity. He was back in ICU for 2 days before moving to a regular room. He is still in hospital and will be until next week. With all this being said he has no insurance (he will receive some incentive help but will not cover all). It will be many weeks before he is able to return to work and he is stressing over his monthly bills. Any donations toward his medical bills and monthly bills would be greatly appreciated.
