Andy & Willa's Life Support League

OCTOBER 2023: Okay guys (and I mean that in the most gender neutral, Hoosier manner), Andy and Willa really REALLY need us.

Andy is very, very sick.

He's has been fighting pneumonia, complete with multiple week-long hospitalizations, ever since I first posted this GoFundMe. Right now, Andy’s been in a drug-induced coma for a week to allow his lungs to rest and heal up. The x-rays show a lot of awful stuff in his lungs that they are going in to remove soon. In addition to the pneumonia that won't go away, there's an additional infection that's just been diagnosed. This has required more antibiotics, more tests, more questions about how long until he is discharged. The reasonable expectation is that he'll be sedated another week at least.

We don't know: how long until he can be woken up, what other treatments/procedures/medications will be needed, how long until Andy is out of the hospital, or how much this will cost.

We are keeping our hopes up, despite all the uncertainty. Andy’s not working on anything but getting better. Willa is working on growing Baby Snowbender and keeping the household together amid all this chaos.

The Original Post: If you know Andy and Willa (or Just Andy or Just Willa), you know they are full of love for each other and their friends and family and are always willing to help us out.

Andy and Willa bought a house (yay!). Then Willa got Covid (no!) and Andy had to move things all on his own. Then Andy got covid. (noo!) Then Andy got pneumonia. (nooo!) Both lungs. (what?!) Then a pulmonary embolism. (ohfortheloveofallthat'sholy)

Now Andy's on the mend, but it's slow going. He's too sick to work right now and the bills are piling up.

Finishing up the move and holding everything together in light of the pneumatic shenanigans, has fallen on Willa (and the fur babies, who are great for morale but terrible at unpacking). Both Andy and Willa are in many if not most ways totally badass superheroes, but all mortals have limits, and they need a hand or eight Managing All The Things until everyone is hale and hearty once again.

I, for one (and maybe you, too?), am not local to provide that help. This absolutely kills me. But thanks to the magic of the Internet and global electronic banking, here we are.
