Andy Carr Legal Fees

Donation protected
I received the letter below and thought “In Upper Darby at St. Alice’s, I was taught not to judge.  It’s not my place.”  My next thought was, “I owe Andy a debt I can never repay for the gifts he gave me.”  If you feel the same, give what you can for his legal fees.  You can choose to donate anonymously when you make payment.  If you feel different, no worries.  You can stop reading now. - Matt

Dear friends and family,

We are writing to you regarding our brother Andy Carr. As many of you know, Andy is serving an 11-year sentence in a Federal Prison. Out of all of the people that were involved, Andy received the most unconscionable sentence. He received 11 years. The other sentences ranged from13 MONTHS to one day or house arrest. Andy was given the worst possible advice from the attorney who represented him. He was told to take a trial, and he would never serve a day in prison. This was the exact same information we were told multiple times as a family.

We are going to try to file for ineffective representation. Prior to this, we filed for an appeal, which we knew we would lose. If Andy were to be granted ineffective representation, this could change the amount of time Andy will serve drastically. When Andy was sentenced to 11 years in a Federal Correction Facility at his age, he realized that he might never make it out of prison.

We are writing to everyone who has known Andy and knows the number of lives he has saved. As many of you know from first-hand experience, Andy has helped hundreds and hundreds of people and especially young people to get sober, stay sober, and change their lives.

We can only move forward with this if we have the financial support from those people who Andy has helped. We are happy to have his new attorney answer any questions that you may have. With your support, we would be able to ask the judge to look at Andy’s case with a new perspective. Andy is NOT asking for a new trial. His attorney needs to help the judge understand that Andy was never given the proper advice about what his options were.

We need Andy to have hope; without hope, we can not imagine how challenging each day would be. Andy has taken complete responsibility for his decision that lead him to where he is at this point; Andy was a drug-addict. He was sober for two years before he was incarcerated. At a recent visit, he told us that his intentions when he gets out are to get heavily involved in recovery again and hopefully work at a gym training people. He is deeply regretful and remorseful of many of the decisions that he made that led him to where he is today. This is the last chance effort to try to get his sentence reduced.

Again please, we are asking you from the bottom of our hearts to consider helping us bring Andy home sooner. Feel free to call or text us with any questions you have. Any help that you could give would be greatly appreciated.

Gratefully,
