Andy's Fight to Live
Donation protected
My sister Jessica and I never imagined we would be in this situation. Our father Andy Dale has been battling terminal cancer for over 4 years, almost 3 years diagnosed. He has Multiple Myeloma (bone cancer) with extremely rare complications of Plasma Cell Leukemia. This double diagnosis which affects only 0.6% of multiple myeloma patients, makes it extraordinarily difficult to treat. Our Dad has surpassed any life expectancy because of his positive outlook and extreme determination to live and survive for his family. For the past two years he has endured several rounds of heavy doses of chemo, radiation and countless blood and platelet transfusions just to name a few. This has been beyond detrimental to our family, as anyone who has experienced this type of hardship understands.
As of now, our last hope of him having some quality of life as short as it may be, he is about to undergo an intensive stem cell immunotherapy. This will be a very high risk specialized treatment that is life threatening and if he survives can leave him in a critical state. With that said, he is determined to fight and we want to honor that for him.
As most of you know, our parents are very private and prideful people and would never ask for help, nor do they know we are doing this for them. This treatment requires a long extended stay in the hospital. Our mom has been having to go back and forth from the hospital, hotel and home many times and then again for the next two months. The expenses add up. Anything helps, even if you say some extra prayers for our family. Remember this is not something our parents would want to do, but Jessica and I can't sit back and watch them stress financially any longer. Please respect their privacy and reach out to me if you have any questions.
We love and appreciate all of you and the support we have been given. Please share our story to as many people as possible.
Love,
Lindsay and Jessica
