Anencephaly Angels
Jarel and Christine Adams welcomed their fourth child, Ezra Jude Adams, into the world on September 10, 2019. Ezra was born with a birth defect called anencephaly- which is a type of neural tube defect that affects the development of the brain and skull.
Anencephaly is estimated to affect 3 pregnancies in every 10,000 in the United States. The causes are unknown. There is no cure or standard treatment. About 75% of these cases of anencephaly are stillborn so the Adams Family is truly grateful to have been able to meet and spend time with Ezra even In knowing their time is limited.
Knowing that time could be limited to as little as a couple of hours (of the infants that are live births with anencephaly most die within hours), the Adams’ took photos made moldings of Ezra’s hands and feet, held him, baptized him, and maximized and cherished every second they had with him in the hospital...but Ezra Jude is a fighter and had plans to leave the hospital with Mommy and Daddy!!
He’s currently still getting loved on by his family and close loved ones from the comfort of their home. Every day, hour, and minute they get with him is a blessing and testimony to God’s grace, love, and mercy.
Ezra is the first infant with anencephaly to actually go home from the hospital where he was born. Praise God, what a miracle! There are still a lot of unknowns and that puts a heavy amount of stress and burden on a family mentally, emotional, and financially.
The least you can do, yet by far the most important, is to lift the precious Adams family up in prayer.
