Angel Baby Evan Sanders
Donation protected
Our next door neighbors, and dear friends, Mike and Renee Sanders, had their 2nd baby boy, Evan, a week ago. They also have 20 month old Colton, their 1st son. We were due 1 week apart with our boys this November.
One week ago little Evan was brought into the world at 34w3d. He was showing signs of distress at their OB appt during the ultrasound. They had an urgent c section, and found out Evan had a congenital heart defect, and an underlying genetic disorder called DiGeorge. He was in the NICU, then transfered to the cardiovascular ICU at the University of MN Masonic Children's Hopital. He had open heart surgery, but his heart did not tolerate the repairs. He was very sick. Then they found out he developed a brain bleed. They did a brain test to check for seizures and brain activity, and found out Evan had a stroke. After, they were informed that the open heart surgery failed. Ultimately, he was now in the same spot that he was in before his open heart surgery. He wasn't a candidate for repeat surgery due to the stroke. He can not be put on bypass again after 3x. So there was nothing more that they could do.
Tonight Evan got to go to heaven. He is freed from his fragile body. No more pain. He is free to be with God in his Kingdom. He was not allowed to be a baby here on earth. No cuddles, kisses, warmth, or nursing. We know he is now taken care of. He left earth quickly once the hospice meds were given, and the breathing tube was removed. He never grimaced once, his spirit left his body, and the fragile sick body was all that was left. Renee dressed him in a light blue elephant fleece sleeper and held him. They are beyond devastated and filled with grief, but in their hearts KNOW he is in a better place.
PLEASE send prayers, positive thoughts, and many hugs their way during this incredibly difficult time.
Anything you can give to help the Sanders family towards medical and memorial expenses is greatly appreciated. God Bless.
