Angel Luis Marty (June 13, 1966 - January 4, 2019)
On behalf of the Marty family, we, their friends and family, have set up this memorial fund to honor the life of Angel Marty, who unexpectedly passed away on Friday, January 4, 2019.
A few days prior to his passing, Angel was not feeling well. He was brought to the ER by his daughter Sarah, on January 2nd. At that point doctors discovered that he had experienced a heart attack sometime between Saturday and Sunday of the previous week. His kidneys and liver had failed and his heart was at 20% functioning. The following morning two procedures were performed. One being the implantation of a ventricular assist device, which is used as a support for people experiencing heart failure. Later he was transferred to the Cardiac ICU where he was monitored closely and if there was no improvement, another more invasive surgery would have taken place.
Angel had stabilized that night with cardiac support. However, at roughly 4am his wife Jeanie received a call from the hospital that Angel’s heart had stopped and they were trying to resuscitate him. Immediately, she and her children rushed to the hospital to find that Angel had passed away in spite of the 12 attempts to resuscitate.
As you can imagine, the heartache, shock, and anguish this family is going through is tremendous. An autopsy was ordered to provide an explanation as to why this sudden and tragic event occurred.
Angel leaves behind his wife Jeanie, and three children, Matthew (32), Sarah (23), and Josiah (15). Jeanie has been battling a rare autoimmune disease with connective cancers for 14 years now and is presently pursuing a double lung transplant. Immunotherapy and chemotherapy are part of her maintenance treatment plans along with frequent doctor visits. Currently, Matthew lives away from home. Sarah is enrolled in a graduate program at Albertus Magnus College, and Josiah is in his sophomore year of high school.
The outpouring of love from relatives, friends, neighbors, and even strangers has been overwhelming. Angel’s compassionate heart, sense of humor, and sacrificial personality impacted so many. His loss is felt deeply, and there is no way to begin to describe how much he will be missed by us all.
Many of you have been asking where to send condolences and how to support the Marty family in this time of grieving. This GoFundMe is intended to be used as a place where you can provide financial support. The funds raised here go directly to the family and will help cover the costs of Angel's funeral arrangements, and the ongoing needs of the Marty family now and in the coming months.
Jeanie, Matthew, Sarah, and Josiah thank you all, for loving Angel so deeply and supporting them through this time.
Thank you & God bless.
