Help my daughter in helping others

"I know beyond a shadow of a doubt that there is no death the way we understood it. The body dies, but not the soul."I
Elizabeth Kubler-Ross
The inspiration for The Adventures of Angela and Petey the Fish children’s book series was born out of my own healing, loss, and grief surrounding the death of Mark. It is a picture book about finding your way to healing. It is intended for children ages preschool-8 years old. Losing the love of my life, Mark, was such a traumatic experience, that it was painful to go through.
However, more difficult was to see my daughter's' experience of the same pain. As a single mother, having Mark in our lives was awesome. His presence made a big impact on us and now that he is gone there is a great void in our lives.
In coping with the loss and trauma that I have experienced I could not find any resources that spoke to me and my daughter. Now that I am in the healing process, locating trauma-based resources that are culturally inclusive was even harder to find, so I decided to write my own book.
Although the void is certainly there and it has not been easy, We've seen good and bad days and this book is a start to better days. I look forward to everyone joining us on our journey as we continue to heal, but help others as well.
My beautiful daughter Nia is the illustrator of the book and her imagination and wonder are what you will see on the pages of the book. She has been so awesome and the wonderful drawings show how she feels and what she sees with Angela and Petey the Fish.
A portion of the proceeds from this book will be donated to assist women and children dealing with grief, loss, and trauma through my soon to be non for profit. The proceeds will also support our international volunteerism program where we will travel and donate books to schools and orphanages such as the Robins Nest in Jamaica and assist families in the healing process through a creative arts curriculum and workshops on dealing and working through trauma.
We would like to reach our goal at the end of 2017 at that time we will be looking for launch dates for the book.
Thank you so much for considering a donation to this worthy cause to help me help others heal. Please share my Go Fund Me Page in order to help me reach our goal.
