Angela Hatfield Medical Issues and Children
Donation protected
Hello everyone. As many of you may already know my sister Angela has experienced some setbacks over the years due to her medical problems. Angela has had Chronic Pancreatitis for 22yrs and constant pain & hospitalizations due to it. Over the years she has had many surgeries and procedures which only progressed the disease, making her health worse. Basically, she was diagnosed Pancreas Divisum which, in turn caused Pancreatitis resulting in her pancreas eating its self from the inside out resulting in extremely painful episodes and necrotized tissue within and calcifications outside. The pancreatitis resulted in her becoming Diabetic Type 3c. Angela takes around 40 different medications and 2 types of multiple insulin injections daily. In 2021, she had a Whipple surgery 2 remove the head of her pancreas, part of the Stomach, and Intestines, rerouting it all and possibly cure or lessen her episodes of Pancreatitis. She has had some small improvements with the surgery, but still has pretty severe episodes often. She also has many other serious health issues - Exocrine Insufficiency (cant take proper nutrition from food), Adrenal Gland Insufficiency, Severe Neuropathy in both feet, 2 Hemangiomas on her spine T11 & 12, plus she broke her back over the summer at the L3. She started having more problems a year and a half ago that we were just able to finally diagnose this Oct. Her stomach wasnt allowing food thru her intestines at times, making her severely ill and bed bound more days then naught. She was diagnosed with Pylorus Stenosis, 3 Ulcers, and intestinal adhesions. The Dr decided to perform a Distal Gastrectomy on Nov 13, removing a good portion more of her stomach and part of the intestines. Her Gastrectomy went well, and she came home after 7 days in the hospital- well home to our parents, as she is not well enough yet to take care of herself and kids. She is currently only allowed liquids until her Post Op appt November 29.
My parents and I have been assisting her over the years in as many ways as we can with her family, her home, and finances, as she is unable to work. Most recently she and her partner of 13yrs have separated and now she has no means to support herself and children. We know that there are many worthy causes, especially as we approach the holidays, but we would like to ask you for your assistance as she recovers from her recent surgery. We are pursuing setting up long-term financial assistance for her and her family, however, this often takes time and does not take effect as fast as it is often needed. The funds raised will go towards helping with bills like housing, utilities, insurance, medical, and various expenses that relate to her recovery and family support.
Angela is a single parent mother with two wonderful children ages 11 and 17. She has struggled with pancreatitis and her numerous illnesses for many years. She has endured several surgeries and many hospitalizations and will still need to be hospitalized often. As a result, she is unable to work and provide for her family. Her recent surgery went well and we are hopeful she will have a better quality of life as she recovers over the next 6-8 weeks.
Angela rarely complains or asks for help but now finds herself concerned for her health and family's well-being. She is a loving parent who shows compassion for everyone and strives to remain positive. She greatly appreciates any and all donations to assist her with getting back on her feet. Any amount is of great help. Please consider sharing this on your social media feeds or thru email. If anyone would like to contribute in a different way, please feel free to contact me. We thank you in advance for your kind contribution or share!
