Dear Family and Friends,
I will first start off by saying that making a gofundme campaign has not been easy for me. In the past, when people in my life have donated money, it has been because I was traveling overseas on missions where I was helping other people. Now, I am needing help for myself. It is truly a humbling experience.
A Snapshot
So for those who may not have time to read this entire story right now, here's the snapshot...
*I'm scheduled for an inpatient surgery on June 22, 2017 for the removal of two non-cancerous fibroid tumors. It's basically like I'm having a c-section but instead of a baby coming out, they take the tumors out.
*When it's all said and done, I will be paying my maximum out-of-pocket amount, which is $6500.
*Here's the exciting part in all this...I have a financial backer that said they will donate dollar for dollar what people give, up to $3,250. So if you give $50, they match and give another $50. So blessed by that!

The Longer Version: My Journey
I noticed towards the end of last year that at times my lower stomach would be distended. Like most people, I shrugged it off and thought that it was possibly a gluten allergy. However, after it didn't go away, I went to the doctor in which they thought that I might have these fibriod tumors and ordered an ultrasound. I was an emotional mess that day.
The earliest ultrasound appointment was 2-3 weeks away, but through an incredible friend and some divine connections, I got seen the same day! A clinic had a new tech in their office just for that day and just for a few hours! They hadn't had a tech for 6 months and she was from out-of-state with this being her first day of orientation (although she had a lot of prior experience). She wasn't even moved into the city yet and was heading back to her city that afternoon. In the words of the doctor, "If you don't believe in a divine being, how this worked out would make you a believer!" I was seen that day and the radiologist called me himself with the results, with his first words reassuring me that I was going to be okay. What a great man! Then, someone paid off that ultrasound bill on my behalf! God was reassuring me right from the beginning that I was going to be taken care of!
For many women who have these, they do not even have symptoms or need treatment, but due to the size of the ones in me (one diameter is the size of an orange and the other the size of grapefruit) and my desire to still have children, something needed to be done. It has also affected my ability to keep working out. Many of you know I had been working really hard in this area of my life and had lost 20lbs. Now you know why you haven't seen those fun FB posts anymore.
Will God Heal Me?
I believe it is His will to do that. I've even read a doctored-verified case of this happening overnight and am getting reports from another woman who had that happen as well for her! So, miracles happen. However, I know that we haven't fully arrived in seeing everyone we pray for healed. Just like Jesus died so that everyone would be saved but all are not saved yet, so it sometimes feels that way with healing. However, everyone that came to Jesus and needed healing, received healing. So, He is my standard no matter what my experience tells me. I will never lower my theology of the Gospel to the level of my circumstances.
For those of you who know me, you know receiving prayer and standing in faith for my healing has been my primary focus. I have experienced some miraculous healing in regards to pain that was affecting my comfort in walking, which I no longer have, so I give thanks for that! I will continue to receive prayer as my first choice for treatment and have Christian doctors who are doing the same. So, I would ask that you also stand with me in prayer.
In the event that these tumors miraculously disappear, I will refund everyone's money. :) If they do not disappear, I know that God is still good and also has gifted my doctor with the ability to remove them. I am at peace either way.
My Medical Team
I have an incredible medical team around me. During my first appointment, they said to me, "We are going to talk to you about this medically and spiritually." I felt so supported that day even though I was quite emotional. They said, "Medically, you have these tumors and they need to be out if you ever want to have children. The only medical way for them to come out is by surgery. Spiritually, we can pray for you for healing and continue to do that with ultrasound checks for as long as you'd like. Your job now is to go pray and ask the Father what you should do together." To end my first appointment, they had four staff in the room lay hands and pray over me. Oh the tears from the love I felt that day and how God was ministering to my heart!
Whether supernaturally or naturally through doctors, these things will be gone by June 22nd! If naturally, I will most likely be in the hospital for two nights with a 4-6 week recovery.
The Bigger Picture
To be honest, the bigger picture for me is not just that I'd be able to work out again and be comfortable again in my body. It's more about my legacy and for a generation that I do not even know yet. Although I am currently not even dating, I have dreams of one day getting married and having children. So for me, having these tumors out is not only for me, but it is for them!
So, thank you for reading my story and partnering with me on my journey of healing. Life isn't meant to be done alone, so I'm so grateful for each and every one of you for your love and support from near or far!
