Angela Meeks Bacterial Meningitis

Angela Meeks is 44 years old. She is a Dayton ISD teacher, mother to 3 girls (24, 21, 9), and grandmother to 3 girls (5, 2, 9m).

On Monday, October 30th, Angela Meeks was found in a catatonic state in her home and rushed to Baytown Houston Methodist, where she continued to worsen in condition and have seizures. She was diagnosed with Bacterial Meningitis, caused by pneumococcal (Strep). Angela was transferred to Downtown Houston Methodist where she remains in a comatose state and continues to have seizures. Her last scans showed cerebral infarcts, petechial hemorrhaging, and a blown out pupil. More scans and tests are being done daily to monitor her condition.

It is not known if or when she will wake up, and if she does, what her conscious state will look like. There are many possible outcomes, Angela's family hopes this Gofundme can assist with any legal/medical expenses to arise from this tragic situation. When she wakes up, there is expected to be rehabilitation and an extensive list of alterations to her and her family's lives. Please keep Angela and her family in your prayers.

UPDATE

Angela woke up 11/7. It is believed she had a stroke, she will need physical therapy and is expected to start very soon. She is not talking or up and moving yet and is still in the hospital, but every day is looking better. In time, Angela will recover, we are praying for a miraculous recovery.
