Angela Ramsay - The Rare Cancer Battle

Angela is a dedicated Loans Officer at the National Commercial Bank (NCB) and a devoted single mother to her loving daughter and cat Sal. She is a loved aunt and vibrant friend to many. Living in Jamaica, Angela has been a helping hand to all; whether it’s her family, friends or clients, she will go above and beyond to find the best possible way to lend a helping hand.

After experiencing prolonged symptoms of severe bleeding, weakness and back pains, Angela underwent a myomectomy in August 2020, hoping that would offer some relief. The results, however, on October 27, 2020, changed her life forever as High-Grade Endometrial Stromal Sarcoma (ESS), a rare, aggressive malignant tumor of the uterus affecting an estimated one to two per one million women was detected. She acted quickly and did a complete hysterectomy in November 2020, six months of chemotherapy and five weeks of radiation over the course of two years and received the good news that she was cancer free. Unfortunately, the encouraging news only lasted eight months as the subsequent follow-up scans revealed the rare disease returned and was more aggressive.

Angela is now seeking further treatment to save her life as the scans suggested that the cancer is spreading throughout her abdomen and lymph nodes. She will have to undergo several additional tests and require further chemotherapy treatment tailored to her genetics with the hope of shrinking the tumors and stopping the spread. This ordeal has caused severe emotional and financial distress to Angela and the family’s resources.

She is in dire need of help and as such, we seek your love and support to continue her fight against this crippling disease. Angela is a fighter and is determined to live a long life and wants nothing more than to see and enjoy the embrace of her future grandchild/children. The road ahead has created some anxiety and fear, but she will prevail with God’s grace and love. All donations will fund general expenses, medical bills, procedures and treatment.
