My cancer story and how you can help.

My name is Angel Adkins. I am 44 year's old. I live in Kodak, TN. I am a wife, mom and soon to be grandmama. ❤ My story is long but I will try to be brief and tell the most important details. In 2019 I was diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic basal cell carcinoma. The cancer started out as a very small spot on my neck that looked like a red little patch smaller than a dime. I had been told by 2 different doctors that it was eczema or psoriasis. I let it go for many years because of that incorrect diagnosis. It began to grow and by the time I sought treatment it had become infiltrating and inoperable. I later found out it had spread to my lymph nodes, my bones and my lungs. By that time I was rapidly becoming very sick. The cancer was all over my spine, ribs, sternum, pelvis and now the newest place, my pubic bone which has caused me to walk with a limp. The pain has become unbearable most of the time and I am now incredibly weak.

I have done all the treatments the doctors here have to offer to no avail. In April 2022 I was told that the cancer treatment was no longer working and I was out of options. I had already been doing alternative therapies at home and began to intensify those along with an extensive diet and supplement protocol. I recently had a scan that showed more growth in 2 places. I am out of options for treatment here.  I recently found hope in traveling overseas to a hospital that offers cutting edge immunotherapy treatments along with alternative therapies that aren't available here in the states. My husband and I have decided  to travel to CHIPSA Hospital in Mexico to do 3 weeks of intensive treatment, along with an at home treatment protocol of immunotherapy treatments that I will continue on for 3 more months. We will then do a scan and reevaluate whether I need to return to recieve more treatment at that time.

I have done my research and spent much time in prayer and we feel confident this is the right move for us. We have decided to go and will begin treatment September 15th for 3 weeks. This treatment is all out of pocket totaling approximately $42,000 for the 3 week stay plus all take home medications. We know this is alot but in comparison, 1 immunotherapy treatment here in the states is over $17,000. I had one every 3 weeks for over a year and the cancer still continued to grow. This is the first hope I have been given for a cure. My oncologist here has told me numerous times not to expect a cure but I can't help it. I have a sure promise from God and He is my hope and my foundation and what I am standing on. He has carried me through the worst of the worst and He will finish the good work he has started in me.

I will be honest and tell you I am physically worn out. I covet your prayers. I'm not ready to give up this fight, I have too much to live for and a strong will to keep fighting and prove these doctors wrong. God will have the last say!
