Angela's 17 year old son, Jacob

Hi, my name is Kelly Carlson and I am trying to help a sweet young man who lost his mother to a battle with brain cancer. Angela was a single mother raising her son Jacob by herself and trying to make a stable life for them. I was a co-worker of Angela's and I watched her as her diagnosis started as a spot of melanoma on her back. Then in 2020 she was told she had a brain tumor that was cancerous. In August 2020 she had that tumor removed. Angela was a positive person and really adhered to her faith in God that she would overcome the cancer and that she would get her life back to normal for her, Jacob, and their kitty, Rae. Sadly, cancer has no conscience or remorse. Angela's suffering would continue. The surgery helped for about a year before she had another small tumor that required radiation treatments. From there her brain never fully recovered and Angela was continuing to have seizures and swelling, fluid in her brain. Her neurosurgeon was convinced that they needed to go in and do another, less invasive, surgery to remove some fluid build up. Unfortunately, Angela would never recover from this second surgery as her body and brain continued its decline. Angela was taken off life support on July 7th, 2022, two months after the surgery that was supposed to help her get better. She never imagined that she would not survive the surgery and she didn't have resources set aside for her teenage boy in case he would be left without anyone to care for him. Jacob would like to finish his senior year this fall at the high school he has been attending. He is in the choir and his choir teacher has been a great mentor to him. He would like to maybe pursue a career in the military or as an EMT. He mostly wants to live his life to make is mother proud of the man he will become!

It is my hope and prayers that we can raise money to help him with living expenses and also money to help him get into a driving school as his mom was unable to teach him to drive during her battle with cancer.
