We are fighting an invisible battle that has affected all humanity equally. Here in Guatemala, despite the care we have taken, the number of cases are increasing daily. As Guatemalans we want to thank all those who are at the forefront of this battle.
An initiative was taken by two Maltese missionary priests working in the Izabal, Guatemala. Father Anton and Father Mario saw that if there is a language that could reach everyone it is surely music. A song can face battles, lift spirits, and even heal.
Inspired by a song composed by Philip Vella and written by Father Carmelo Refalo, also a Maltese priest, the missionary priests sought local support for the song production at the team of Guatemala.com; Marvin Lima a sound engineer; Francisco Paéz, a famous Guatemalan singer; Dr. Stuardo Mata, a renowned dentist, and Father Carlos Rodríguez, a priest who works in Antigua Guatemala.
We have joined forces with people with the same objective: to sing to the "Hidden Angels" who are at the forefront of this battle. They are the doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, volunteers, and thousands of good-hearted people who move to serve. They deserve much more than a song. But this can be a starting point.

Izabal is one of the few departments in Guatemala that does not have hemodialysis units. Our dream is to purchase several units since it is estimated that more than 200 patients need the treatment up to 3 times a week.
Many die from the inability to be offered effective and timely treatment.
The Catholic Church of Izabal entered into an alliance with the Hospital Japan Guatemala that is in Puerto Barrios, to support the hospital in the acquisition of these units that would serve the entire population, especially the most vulnerable and poor who often are not able to pay for their medical tests.
A hemodialysis unit is worth around 150 thousand quetzales ($ 20 thousand dollars or 17,600 euros).
Our goal is to acquire 5 or more units for the service of the national hospital.

Estamos viviendo una batalla invisible que ha afectado a todos por igual. Aquí en Guatemala, a pesar del cuidado que hemos tenido, el numero va aumentando. Como guatemaltecos queremos dar gracias a todos los que están al frente de esta batalla.
La iniciativa empezó con dos sacerdotes misioneros de Malta que trabajan en el área del departamento de Izabal en Guatemala. Padre Anton y Padre Mario vieron que si hay un lenguaje que pudiera llegar a todos, seguramente, es a través de la música. Una canción puede enfrentar batallas, levantar el ánimo e incluso llegar a sanar.
Inspirados en una canción que escribió el Padre Carmelo Refalo, también sacerdote maltés, los misioneros buscaron el apoyo local del sitio Guatemala.com; Marvin Lima ingeniero en sonido; Francisco Paéz, cantante guatemalteco; el doctor Stuardo Mata, reconocido odontólogo y padre Carlos Rodríguez, sacerdote que trabaja en Antigua Guatemala.
Nos hemos aliado unas personas con el mismo objetivo: cantar a los “ángeles escondidos” que están en la frente de esta batalla. Ellos son los médicos, enfermeros, trabajadores en las áreas de salud, voluntarios y miles de personas de buen corazón que se mueven para servir. Merecen más de una canción. Pero de aquí podemos empezar.
Ahora, si te gusta la canción y mueve tu corazón, puedes dar un paso más. Donar para SALVAR VIDAS. Izabal es uno de los pocos departamentos que sus hospitales públicos todavía no cuentan con unidades de hemodiálisis. Nuestro sueño es conseguir la compra de varias unidades ya que se calcula que más de 200 pacientes necesitan el tratamiento hasta 3 veces por semana.
Muchos fallecen por la incapacidad de ofrecer un tratamiento eficaz y oportuno.
La Iglesia del Vicariato Apostólico de Izabal entró en alianza con el Hospital Japón Guatemala, que está en Puerto Barrios, para servir de apoyo al hospital en la adquisición de estas unidades que serviría para toda la población, especialmente para los más vulnerables y pobres que muchas veces no pueden pagar sus exámenes.
Una unidad de hemodiálisis vale alrededor de 150 mil quetzales (20 mil dólares o 17,600 euros). Nuestra meta es de adquirir 5 o más unidades para el servicio del hospital nacional.
