Angelia Forbes- Breast Cancer Fundraiser

I am writing this today with a sad heart on behalf of my sister, Angie ♥️ A lot of you may know her in Homer from Fat Olives, as Emma’s mom, Howard and Norma‘s daughter, or Ali’s sister, and she is all of those things and so much more. She is an incredible person, and one of the most caring/generous people I have ever known.

Unfortunately she has been hit with several heart aches over the last few years, the first being the passing of our mother from cancer is 2018, then more personal and medical challenges leading up to this year, where she most recently was diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer.

I will never understand how some of the most amazing people, can get dealt the hardest hands. Although she has faced all of this, and much more, you will never see her down. She is currently undergoing weekly chemo treatments, and continuing to work and take care of Emma (who will be 10 in august) as a single mother. She is always upbeat and positive, and puts everyone else before herself.

Angie has started treatment already, but this is only the beginning of a long road. This summer (which is the most lucrative season) she will have to take off 2 months from work (possibly more or less depending on any unforeseen circumstances). She will also have to travel to Soldotna and Anchorage regularly for treatments, surgery, etc. She has insurance to cover most medical bills, but this time off is going to be very taxing financially. Not being able to work for months, she will need help with rent, bills, groceries, etc. and we really don’t want her to have to worry or stress more than necessary during this time
