Angels for Brody ❤️‍

Hi my name is Meghan .

I am sharing a tragic story on this platform in hopes to raise some much needed funds for my son Brody's recovery.

On August 10th.2024, my son Brody was brutally attacked by two assailants with machetes. They lacerated his limbs, fractured his skull multiple times, he has gashes from the top of his head all through his front and back of his torso and up and down his arms and legs. Extensive damage throughout Brodys entire body including his face, he has had 2 pieces of his body completely reattached. This was a robbery, just to get his personal belongings, little do they know they have stolen my sons ability to do anything on his own, even the most basic human functions that we take for granted daily

Brody had guardian angels over him that evening. Police were at the scene quickly as they were in the area for a separate situation. They were flagged down by someone who saw Brody in the middle of the road. They immediately started first aid. The police officers told me if they were even a few minutes later that their conversation with me would be a completely different one!

We are thankful for the team of surgeons who pieced Brody back together through a grueling 15 hour surgery. I was told it had to be done at Adult HSC as to the extent of the wounds and that they pulled out every single trick they could to reattached certain things together.

Brody is alive, he is doing his best to remain positive and has a long road of reconstruction and rehabilitation to regain function of his body.

I have cut back my hours at work to provide round the clock care for my son during the first phase of his recovery.

I will stay beside him as long as needed until he can perform regular tasks.

I am asking for help, anything, even advice as to different charities or organizations that are available to us, as the resources through our health care system for a youth in this position who survived the attack are limited.

I am need of a hospital bed immediately or a special bed that can be raise and lowered.

Today I found out his projected release date is as early as next week, with home care to come change bandages and watch wounds. This was a shock to me as I believed he would have an extensive hospital stay.

I am a single Mom with 3 children.

Anyone who has any info that could point me in the right direction of resources available to make my home comfortable for Brody would be appreciated. Just know even the smallest donation can make the biggest difference.
