Angels Wear Scrubs by Moms Ceramics

Donation protected
"I wanted to make them a small token of my gratitude. I felt the faceless angel was appropriate, they take no credit for what they are doing for us, they go to work everyday risking their lives to save ours. " - Catherine

Catherine Camisa, the owner of Mom's Ceramics studio in Massapequa NY, couldn't just sit by and watch as members of her community were on the front lines of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The horror stories of what her customers and close family friends who are nurses are experiencing had Catherine thinking about how she could show her appreciation, and that these nurses truly are the hero's of our communities!

Since NY On-Pause is in effect, Catherine has been working 12 hour days, 7 days a week creating ceramic angels to donate to the nurses and service workers who are tirelessly supporting our community. The joy that this simple token of appreciation gives to nurses during or after a long shift supporting an enormous increase in work makes it all worth it.

Using her Mom's Ceramic Facebook page (link below to connect with Catherine) she began sharing her journey of using her SINGLE angel mold to create these tokens of appreciation, enlisting the help of her best friend Donna to pour clay, fire up the kiln or glaze each one by hand with her. This immediately sparked an enormous reaction from her community and all of those she connects with! After the supplier of the angel molds, Clay Magic Inc, heard about Catherine's "Angels wear Scrubs" project, they instantly donated more molds so she could make these at a faster pace. Hundreds of folks wanted to bring these to their loved ones fighting COVID-19 in hospitals and clinics all over Long Island, and they've been flying out of the door of Mom's Ceramics (at a safe, social distance!)

And it hasn't stopped there! Catherine has donated these to over 10 states across America, and sparked an angel movement amongst ceramics studios all over the US.

Catherine has invest $2500+ of her own personal funds to support this project, and as a small business owner the expenses of keeping Mom's Ceramics up and running doesn't stop. Between rent, supplies and electric to run her kilns while the store is closed, we are opening up for donations so that Catherine can continue this project.

Our goal is to help support Catherine show all of the nurses in NY and beyond. Anything you can donate will go directly towards creating more Angels to be donated to nurses and front line workers.

"They are truly the ones saving this world."

Anyone who knows our Catherine, knows she would give anything she had to others, whether she knows them or not. Let's come together to support Catherine and the amazing Angels who wear Scrubs, our Nurses.
