Angie's House - Angel Wings for Angie Fundraiser

Donation protected

Team Angie held their 5th Annual Angel Wings for Angie Benefit Concert and Fundraiser on June 2nd, 2019 at Uptown Grille in Commerce Township, Michigan - we had an amazing night and raised over $35,000 bringing our total to almost $160,000 in 5 years for local organizations in our community that are helping us fight the opioid epidemic that is stealing our loved ones from us. Thank you so much for helping to make this year's event another success - we could not do this without you! Unfortunately our 6th event for May 30th, 2020 was cancelled due to COVID-19, however we are still collecting donations to build Angie’s House and for the Endeavor House Ministries.

Our goal for this year is to raise money and donations for "Angie’s House". Team Angie will be focused on buying and/or building a dedicated facility for women seeking recovery that accommodates approximately 12-16 people struggling with addiction. An organization that is near and dear to our hearts, the Endeavor House has partnered with us and we are working hard to make this a reality within the next few years (we are hoping as soon as end of 2020-2021).

The Endeavor House has demonstrated their capabilities and saved lives since we started our mission in 2014 and are highly motivated like us to make Angie’s house as successful as the Men's Endeavor House is. We are extremely excited and as always, will need you ongoing support and donations.

We hope you will join us in helping to raise needed funds for the Opioid Epidemic that is killing 100+ people a day and to achieve this new challenge while always continuing our mission of community education and affordable recovery options for Men and Women.

Don't forget to follow us at Angel Wings For Angie  for all updates! Thank you all for your continued support & we can't wait to see you!

Angela was 25 years old when she died of an accidental opiate overdose on the morning of July 10th, 2014. Angela suffered from an opiate addiction for several years but also sustained many long and successful periods of sobriety. She did not want to be an addict, and tried hard to Angie was a loving daughter to David and Elizabeth Martin and older sister to Kelly, Heather, and Danielle Martin. She graduated in 2007 from Walled Lake Central High School, and attended Oakland University for her interest in Psychology. Angela had many friends, interests, and goals in her lifetime on earth. She was born in Royal Oak, Michigan but moved to Wolverine Lake when she was in Kindergarten with her family. After graduating, Angie spent 4 years in California near San Diego and absolutely loved the warm weather, beaches, opportunity, and people there. Angie always easily made friends with her friendly smile and likable personality. She was a huge animal lover and had two pets named Fitz and Percy. She loved fashion (designer pieces specifically), all Detroit sports, the color pink and Tye-dye, writing, reading, listening to music (specifically Eminem & The Red Hot Chili Peppers), going for walks, laughing, being with her family, and traveling. She was a hard worker, a beautiful spirit, and a loyal friend. She is greatly missed by many people everyday. Angie's dream was to be a counselor and eventually a psychiatrist in order to help people who had gone through the struggles and addictions that were similar to hers. We as a family feel that if we can carry on her name and help other people with the same struggles, than maybe her death will not have been in vain. That is why we started Angel Wings for Angie in Angie’s honor.

Team Angie is focused on three main priorities:

1. Helping those suffering from addiction transition into a responsible and healthy lifestyle and out from the burdens of addiction.
2. Creating awareness and educating as many people as possible of the dangers in all opiate based drugs which include illegal opiate derivatives & legal prescription drugs.
3. Supporting our community and people to be drug-free and live healthy, responsible lives away from the grips and harm of opioids.

Essentially, we are trying to create awareness and prevention methods to keep one away from ever getting to the state of addiction. Thus, we have identified, researched, and choose recipients on a yearly basis that we will donate 100% of all proceeds and they are summarized below. Please help us in raising as much monies as possible enabling our team to help make a difference & save lives in Angie’s name. This year, we will be focusing on raising money for "Angie's House" which our partner Endeavor House is helping us with. Find out more about them below.

Endeavor House for Men and Women's Opportunity House for Women- Lansing, MI

Endeavor House Ministries and the Women's Opportunity House are two residential, Christ-centered, community based transitional housing/recovery program designed to help men and women find freedom from drug and alcohol addiction. Our intent is to provide the participants with the life skills and coping mechanisms necessary to ensure them a successful transition back into everyday society upon completion of the program. We provide a safe, structured, learning environment in our one year program. The residents participate in a rigorous daily schedule including Bible study, community service, household responsibilities and 12 step meetings such as Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Celebrate Recovery, and Steps to Freedom. The program is operated exclusively with volunteer labor and the funds received are used to maintain the facilities and benefit the residents. In eight years of existence they have seen God do numerous miraculous things in the lives of our residents. We have seen broken lives made new, many families restored, spiritual healing, physical healing and several other exciting events. These things would not happen without the support of like-minded people and organizations.
