Animal aid in The Gambia with GHDT

Once again I’m off to The Gambia.. but this time, for a WHOLE YEAR
I will be volunteering as a veterinary nurse with The Gambia Horse and Donkey Trust, an amazing charity that not only provide essential veterinary care, but also work hard to educate and support local animal owners.
Don’t be fooled by the name, GHDT take in and care for any animals that come their way. They currently have 19 resident dogs, numerous cats and some camels... with the numbers always growing as no animal will ever be turned away.
On top of supporting the incredible work GHDT already do, with education, emergency care and hospitalisation, I am hoping to set up regular neuter clinics for the vast number of street cats and dogs, as well as encouraging gambian families to adopt suitable strays as a part of their family.
I would really love to raise some money in order to purchase and ship out a bulk of veterinary and husbandry items to enhance the work the GHDT can do whilst I am there, and the difference we can make
Any money donations are sooooo gratefully received, the simplest of items that we take for granted here are like gold dust in The Gambia - even cotton wool is STRICTLY rationed, which can make treating wounds hard!

Alongside money donations for a shipment of vet supplies, they are desperate for items (pony size head collars, bits, hi vis - to help avoid the many road traffic accidents for working donkeys and horses). So raid your tack rooms and you pockets, and help to make a difference ☺️
