Animal Sanctuary Desperately Needs Our Help

I have become aware of a very sad situation. The Healing Hearts Animal Sanctuary in Roseland, VA is in dire need of support. Two fine upstanding senior women, Sharon Day and Christie Morton, have been caring, feeding and maintaining unadoptable cats for over 15 years now, and their funds have been used up. They borrowed over $150,000 against their property to continue their passion of providing safe warm beds, food and medicine for their now 74 elder and/or infirmed felines. (There have been hundreds upon hundreds of fur-babies that have passed through this Sanctuary, but they can't take anymore due to the financial devastation and lack of manpower.) Their credit line on the property has all been used up. Their social security benefits aren't meeting their needs. The past two years with the pandemic and devastating weather has only added to their woes. The record-setting snow and ice of this winter has played havoc on their outbuildings where the cats are housed. Their needs are mounting.

 

Please consider giving what you can to help these two loving, generous souls to make needed repairs and continue providing for these wayward cats for their remaining time this side of the Rainbow Bridge.
