ANIMALS of Hawaii Mauna Loa Emergency Fund

Hi, my name is Trina, and this is my & my husband's first Go Fund Me. We stumbled on a YouTube video last May about the scarcity of Animal feed and the extremely high price increases on the Big Island of Hawaii. At that time, they were even rationing it for larger farms & rescues. After reaching the person on the news piece & a local rescue, we vowed to get involved somehow. The issue before the eruption of Mauna Loa was grave, but now it is "dire." The entire island is under an ash fall warning & many animals will suffer and succumb to ash-filled pasture lands. With the eruptions, there are fine glass-like strands that are in the air & can be deadly if ingested, and with the continuation of sky HIGH feed prices and scarcity its even worse. The average bale is over $55.00. Our contact at a local Horse & small animal rescue in Hilo reached out to us on Monday after the event & asked if there was any chance of helping to get Animal feed NOW is the time. We wished to share the people and Animals of Hawaii's cry for help. The eruption of Mauna Loa is threatening, and the existing feed shortage makes the situation unbearable for all the rescues and others that have animals.

The funds will be used to purchase the necessary feed for the varied animals that need help & transit by Air Cargo to Hilo or Kona, then distributed by our contact. We hope that this will touch people's hearts and help in any amount that they can.
