Animation Bachelor's Fundraiser
Donation protected
Hi! My name is Mariyah Shah! I’m 17, and I’m a high-school senior participating in dual-enrollment classes.
I'm planning on going to Full Sail University to learn how to animate. I’ve had a passion for art since I was little, and I find that animation is a fantastic field to bring my ideas to life. Along my journey, I’d like to speak about my experiences through my artwork, and it’d be nice to make a few people laugh along the way.
I enjoy volunteering at places that help the needy or less fortunate, such as food banks or crisis assistance centers. Education is also important to me, so I find chances to help less fortunate students by packing back-to-school bags or helping them learn through being a reading buddy or by designing fun flashcards.
My mom worked around senior citizens often, and I’ve grown to love being around older people. I’ve found that I can learn quite a lot from them, and I’ve made a habit of coming to visit, bringing sweets and playing bingo with them.
I'm a first-generation college student, and my mom is disabled and cannot work. I work part-time for the local YMCA, and combined, we make less than $20,000 per year.
The entire tuition comes out to around $89,000, and I will have to find and pay for an apartment, as the campus does not have housing on-site.
Some of the cost has been covered by scholarships, but I will still need to take out extensive loans to pay for the rest of my schooling. The funds provided by donors should help me cover much more of the cost, especially if we reach the target goal.
Thank you for your consideration and thank you for helping me get this far!
