On January 17, 2011 I got the call that nobody wants to get. That day was the changing day in my life. I was diagnosed with Breast Cancer Stage 2A. Everything started happening so fast that I didn’t even have time to think. I was going to doctor’s appointments every day, preparing for surgery, and preparing work for my absence during my surgery. Then the day finally came. On February 16, 2011, I went into the hospital to have a Bilateral Mastectomy and reconstruction. I remember waking up in the recovery room and the nurses telling me how many people where there waiting for me after 9 and ½ hours of surgery. I knew at that moment I was loved by so many friends, co-workers and family.
My treatment was to come next; I was scheduled for 6 rounds of the BAD BAD Chemotherapy and 52 rounds of the Not so Bad Chemotherapy (if there is such a thing). But with this came 13 more surgeries to complete everything with my reconstruction. I am proud to say while going through all of this I have been able to remain positive and keep a good sense of humor in my life.
One of the hardest parts of this journey in my life was accepting all of the giving and love from people I did not even know. Pretty and Pank funds was one of the very hardest things I received. I had never wanted to be on the receiving end of any fund, I get so much joy from Giving. I can say that the funds were very much appreciated and needed due to a very expensive journey in my life.
I hope to be an inspiration to my other breast cancer sisters because I have been inspired by all the breast cancer survivors I have met along my cancer journey. My advice to new breast cancer sisters would be to take one day at a time and find your Inner Strength, Faith and Courage to get through your journey.
I am A Proud Survivor,
Anita Williamson
I don't think anyone would of guessed that my mom would have to face Breast Cancer a second time around. August of 2015 she got another phone call that this disease had returned to haunt her again.
There wasn't a day I didnt question why this had returned but I knew God had a plan. I watched her struggle through 8 rounds of BAD Chemo. After Chemo was done, we turned around just to watch her struggle through 48 rounds of Radiation. I didn't know just how we would get through this, but day by day we found more faith,
She worked the entire time she went through this. She was hospitilized countless times for how bad the Chemo broke down her immune system. She would work from the hospital to try and keep her mind off of what she was going through.
Mom is now done with radation and part of her treatment plan that her oncologist designed for her is more rounds of chemo. Recently mom found out that her oncologist has left the practice and is returning to the place he calls home. This now leaves mom traveling to Atlanta (3 hrs away) to an oncologist she once saw in 2011.
Mom feels that she is being led to a hospital in Mexico called CHIPSA. This hospital has very advanced medical solutions. The treatment they have designed for mom would benefit her in so many different ways. She does not want to do the last round of chemo if she can get to CHIPSA and get her immune system back to 100%. They will teach her how to maintain a healthy life style. The treatment at CHIPSA is not covered by any medical insurance. The treatment she will recieve there contains many diffrent supplements, special diets, special vaccines, oxygen treatments, ect
Unfortunately there is no hospital in the US that has approved a holistic approach for cancer treatments. This treatment is costly and we are asking for your help to get her there. Any amount will help and we pray if its layed on your heart to donate you will do so. God bless each and everyone of you and I know that God will see us through :)
