I’m sad to report that our beloved mum, Ann Crawford, passed away peacefully at home on the morning of 24th July 2022. With her family at her side, holding her hand, she remained strong and fiercely resilient right to the end!
All the messages and support have been amazing and much appreciated.
We have been holding off any further arrangements as both of us have had several other commitments over the past few weeks, with living in the US, and Bailey the dog visiting for the summer. However, mum’s funeral has been arranged for Friday 2nd September 2022, 12 noon at Inchinnan Parish Church (Old Greenock Road, Inchinnan, Renfrew, PA4 9PE, United Kingdom). Then onto Bishopton Cemetery for 1pm, where Ewan lives and my parents lived when they first got married. All welcome.
We’d also like to invite family and close friends to join us afterwards with our dad at home in Paisley (6 Dryburgh Avenue, Paisley, PA2 9JB, United Kingdom) for a few hours of celebration and memories! I know that a number of people have asked about sending cards and are welcome to send there, or to Judith in the US (35 Bridgham Farm Rd, Rumford, RI, 02916).
In the evening, we’ll be returning to Bishopton where anyone, who is in Scotland, is welcome to pop by for some takeaway and drinks.
The funeral home in the UK, doesn't have the same setup as in the US. Hence we are using gofundme as a proxy for an announcement. I know several people have asked if there is a charity they can donate to. While nothing is expected if anyone would like to we plan to donate the money to dementia groups and charities and the awesome group of carers who have given up a lot of their own lives, particularly during COVID to help my parents. Any donations received will be matched dollar for dollar by the family before passing on the full amount.
The carers, who we owe a huge amount of respect and gratitude. They are part of our family.
Thank you all
Judith and Ewan
Below are some pictures to give you a flavor and an insight into life.
Before they got married by the coast in Scotland. They met at the dancing in Glasgow.
Wedding in 1966. My Dad is still upset England won the world cup the same year.
The day Ewan was born
Early family picture, Ewan less than one and Judith six. We don't have many of the four of us as my Mum hated her picture being taken.
In homage to the bad weather in Scotland, she won the Halloween contest this year.
Ewan's 30th birthday party.
Guernsey at our favorite and kind of only family destination. We stopped going for a while, but we started going with them again 2017 when they could not go alone. We are going together next year.
Out for a stroll in the wheelchair near the house.
Arguably my mum's favorite member of the family, Harry.
