Ann DeSantis Cancer Battle

In November 2021 my dear friend of 30years, Ann DeSantis (Kattner) was diagnosed with Triple negative metastatic breast cancer. The most aggressive type of breast cancer and most likely to come back. Ann has always been a fighter and seemed to be beating the odds after months of chemo followed by a double mastectomy in June 2022. The journey had some scares along the way, but on June 28th 2022 her pathology report stated she was cancer free. After recovering from her mastectomy, she was able to start immunotherapy to help strengthen her system and fight off the cancer from reoccurring. A few weeks after that she was finally able to start radiation. Then on September 2nd she had a grand mal seizure. After some tests in the hospital, they found the cancer had spread to her brain. This news is devastating to all that know and love her.

The cancer is now stage 4, having spread beyond the original site. With this new stage, she would like to pursue any clinical trials that she can to prevent the cancer from spreading anywhere else. Ann has been many people’s favorite hairstylist for over 20 years, but has been unable to work during this aggressive battle. Please consider donating to help alleviate some of the financial stress on her and her loving husband Brian. Any additional funds would allow her to pursue clinical trials out of state.

When she started reading and listening to other people’s cancer stories, she told me she wanted to be an advocate for others who aren’t as vocal as her. Let’s help Ann continue to focus on her health, so that she can fight this cancer and be an advocate for others.
