Help Ann San get elected in Liverpool Wavertree

This campaign is to raise funds for Ann San the independent Socialist candidate who will be standing in the General Election in the Liverpool Wavertree Constituency. Labour and the Tories are both the same. Wavertree working people deserves a MP with socialist principles, policies and ideas.

Fighting elections costs money, and we rely entirely on individual donations, supporters and fundraising to meet the costs of campaigning activities. We ask you to donate what you can. Every little helps.

All monies raised will be given to Ann San’s official campaign fund, to be used for her campaign expenses in the forthcoming Parliamentary election in accordance with the Electoral Commission Rules.

My name is Ann San. I am a mum, nanna and proud to be an NHS nurse working in both hospital and community settings in the inner city of Liverpool for the last 34 years. I have witnessed first hand the grinding poverty and deprivation that people in this great city have endured under the Conservative Government. I am a long-standing activist and have campaigned against wars in Afghanistan, Iraq and the genocide in Palestine. I have campaigned for against the political attacks on the Health Service and Social Care and supported strikers on picket lines. I was a long-standing member of the Labour party but left when Kier Starmer started to betray the core principles of Labour.

The current political landscape offers a limited choice between political parties who have almost identical policies. Millions of us believe in an alternative to the policies of austerity.

I am standing on the following principles:

· Public ownership of all public services,

· Education and opportunity for all to fulfil their potential without going into debt.

· A major programme of council house building and regeneration ,

· A fully funded National Health & Care Service ,

· Renationalisation of the NHS,

· A new Welfare State in which those in need are not forced into poverty,

· A foreign policy committed unequivocally to work for peace, the rule of international law and human rights , the rights of refugees and a fair, non-racialised immigration system.

Our Health & Social Care Services are at breaking point, we have seen the shameful closures of care homes in the city and our elderly and vulnerable residents being transported around like unwanted cattle to other care homes already under significant pressures. Waiting times at Accident & Emergency Departments are at a record high with patients being assessed in corridors – the result of a deliberate policy of closing 125 A & E Departments and the closure of 25,000 beds . We have

waiting lists of over 7 million people and to its shame Labour under Keir Starmer will continue dismantling the NHS and privatising more services . If elected as your MP I will continue to campaign for an economy that puts human need before corporate greed .

I am sick of politicians who say one thing to get your vote and then once elected forget about the people who voted for them. Politicians are out of touch with the grim realities facing many people. MPs earn too much, if elected I will be taking half of what they earn for my wage and will invest the remaining half into the Wavertree community.

The Labour Party under Starmer has given unequivocal support to the State of Israel who has unleashed the most horrific genocide against the Palestinian people. This is shameful and I will continue to oppose the apartheid state imposed by Israel and for the end of the occupation in Palestine.
