Anna Crutchfield Memorial Tree @ Detroit Zoo

In Memory of Anna Mae Crutchfield
July 27, 1983 - April 20, 2021

Anna’s “Zoo” family would like to honor her legacy by planting a memorial tree near the Ford Education Center at the Detroit Zoo in Royal Oak. She was an integral part of our Zoo operations from 2001 – 2010.

Anna was a passionate advocate for both animal welfare and education. She was the driving force behind many initiatives which enhanced the Detroit Zoo during her time there. She later became a fierce advocate fighting to ensure that students in under-served communities had access to a quality education.

We would like to honor her passions by planting a tree in the courtyard of the Ford Education Center in her memory where family and friends can visit for many years to come.

A tree is a great way to honor Anna because: they provide shelter for animals and birds, oxygen that we need to live, shade on hot summer days, and they are strong, resilient, and beautiful!

Disclaimer:  This fundraising effort does NOT benefit me in any way, shape, or form.  My role is coordinate the acquisition of a memorial on behalf of some amazing people who loved Anna tremendously.  Any funds received will go towards the purchase and installation of a tree at the Detroit Zoo.  In the event that the target goal is not reached, a less expensive expression will be selected and installed onsite (i.e. memorial bench or brick pavers).
