Anna's Cancer Journey

On January 5th we found out I have cancer. I have been struggling with symptoms for over 6 months so even though this isn't the diagnosis we wanted, we finally have answers and IT IS TREATABLE. We don't know everything yet but will soon. We do know I have a grapefruit size mass (8.6cm) in my pelvis pushing against my organs and sciatic nerve. Monday I am scheduled to have a chemo port placed. We don't know what stage I am but will hopefully find out Tuesday when they do more imaging. We know I have to do chemo and radiation, surgery will depend on how those go.

I am out of work now and my FMLA and short term disability are currently pending and I am out of sick time. When my short term disability comes through it will only be 60% of my regular income. I am worried sick about keeping life afloat (paying bills) while we navigate this. While I hate to ask for help we could really use it.
