Anna Juhl's surgery recovery
Donation protected
My incredible sister Anna Juhl experienced a life-threatening medical event this spring. While undergoing emergency surgery for suspected appendicitis, Anna's medical team discovered that her situation was actually much more serious. She had a ruptured colon, which would require two major surgeries with long-term recovery periods spanning more than six months. We're so grateful that this was caught when it was, because Anna could have lost her life had it been detected even a day or two later.
Anna's recovery has kept her from working most of the time since her first surgery. Now she is facing a second surgery with an even longer recovery period. Anna has long past exhausted her sick and vacation time. Anna is an ICU nurse who worked on the front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic. She frequently used sick time any time she displayed symptoms, cutting into her already limited sick hours.
To add to an already difficult situation, she lost her beloved dog Winki recently and is now dealing with vet bills on top of everything else.
Please consider donating to help keep Anna afloat during her recovery. We live in a country where this could happen to any of us. One unexpected medical event can change everything. Any amount helps. Thank you for supporting Anna.
