ANNA’S PLACE BACK TO SCHOOL FUNDRAISER

On August 19th we will host our “Dodwell House Community Resource Center (DHCRC)/Anna’s Place – Back to School” fundraising blitz to support the important after-school programs for the upcoming school year. This event is essential to our forward progress. Only in New Orleans can you combine saving a historic home while enriching the lives of inner-city children in a historic district, the Tremé/7th Ward.

DHCRC/Anna’s Place NOLA focuses on the whole child approach offering music education and theory, arts, Stem, Stair reading program, ATC prep, food pantry services for families as well as utility bill assistance for participant families. Telehealth and mental health are also a cornerstone of our program. Our success rate of 100% participant high school graduation rate gained recognition from NASA opening the door for us to be honored as one of 17 official NASA Community Hubs.

The Dodwell House Community Resource Center (DHCRC) is a recently renovated 1846 Creole Cottage that had been listed on the historic registry as one of the most endangered historic sites in New Orleans. DHCRC is now a safe haven for 150 children and young adults who face significant economic barriers, offering enrichment services to change the trajectory of their lives.
