Annette Husak passed away on January 20, 2024, after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born and raised in Fresno, she dedicated her life to nurturing young minds as a kindergarten teacher at Jefferson Elementary in Sanger, CA. Her passion for education and her unwavering patience left its mark on countless lives, spanning generations. In 2009, she was named Teacher of the Year in Sanger Unified. Her love for teaching didn't end with retirement; she continued to teach reading at Fairmont in Sanger for 2 more years. And after fully leaving Sanger Unifed she spent her time spoiling, teaching, and unconditionally loving her four grandkids.
Apart from her professional achievements, Annette, alongside her husband Dan, were strong supporters of the local arts, playing a significant role in founding Blossom Trail Players and building the theater program at Jefferson Elementary School. Her legacy in the arts will live on through the many lives she touched.
This scholarship fund has been established to support graduating Sanger High students who are interested in theater and the arts the opportunity to continue their pursuits and passion as Annette had. Her children have established the Annette Husak Memorial Scholarship in her honor.
