Annette Manzo Rehabilitation Fund

Hi, I'm Gabe Schaffer, and I'm raising funds for my mother-in-law, Annette Manzo. On August 19th, Annette came home for dinner after a normal day at work. Upon being home for only a few minutes, she began acting odd. So odd that Jessie (my father-in-law) decided to call an ambulance. Upon arriving at the hospital, the surgeons began working immediately to remove a blood clot in her brain that was caused by a massive stroke. Soon after, they also needed to perform a craniotomy in order to relieve the swelling in her brain. In spite of the odds that the doctors gave her, she came through each procedure.

Annette has a long recovery ahead of her. Annette is in a local rehab facility now, focusing on healing and therapy. Annette’s speech, cognitive skills and her ability to move her left side have all been affected greatly by this stroke. Annette needs assistance in every way at this moment. This is going to take a lot of therapy, patience, faith and resources to help Annette recover.

Hospital bills pile up, and nobody plans for these tragedies. I'm trying to do my part by asking for help. Annette and Jessie need help. I've never set up a GoFundMe before, but I believe this situation merits one.

All funds will be distributed to Jessie and Annette in order to cover already accrued hospital bills, the immediate need for Annette to remain in the rehabilitation center, and any at-home care that may follow. I will update the GoFundMe goal as any other needs arise.
