I was diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma Triple Negative Grade 3 Breast Cancer in 2018 and had bilateral masectomy. I had expanders put in and a month later was diagnosed with a rare bacterial infection and had to have the expander removed/replace. After completion of chemo and radiation I had my expanders removed and implants put in. I got capsular contraction and my implant starting coming through the skin. I had another surgery to release the capsule and repair the skin. The procedure didn't work. I still have capsular contraction, which is very painful and my skin is continuing to thin. My implant is slowing coming through the skin. I need another surgery (this will be my seventh surgery since my diagnosis) to remove the implant and have the DIEP flap procedure.
I am going into my third year and have been able to meet my deductible with money received from family members and savings. That is all gone now. I have maxed out my credit card and depleted my savings.
Before I can have the procedure I need to pay my deductible. I am schedule of surgery March 16, 2020. Because the implant is coming through me skin I need to have the procedure as soon as possible. As of now the doctor can save breast skin. If I wait too long I may lose all the skin covering my breast.
