Help Annette Neff with Medical & Living Expenses

My name is Missy Caldwell, and my husband Richard is Annette's cousin. Anyone who knows Annette would tell you that what she wears is as sparkly as her personality. On Christmas Day, Annette was supposed to have dinner with me and Richard with my family, but she didn’t call or show. After dinner, our distress grew and we knew something was wrong because Annette wasn’t answering calls or texts, so we went to her house to check on her. There were no marks in the snow, either from tire tracks or footprints, and because her dog Forrest was barking, we let ourselves into the house and found Annette unconscious, critically hypothermic, and in DKA (diabetic ketoacidosis). If that was the end of the story, we wouldn’t be posting this on her behalf. Due to the DKA, and a c diff infection she’d contracted after a course of antibiotics, Annette was critically ill, and suffered a stroke while in the hospital. She was transported to Mt Carmel Grove City for monitoring in a neuro unit. She is now in Mt Carmel Rehabilitation Hospital in Westerville, but she is facing months of rehab and recovery and is unable to work. Due to a layoff in the fall, Annette’s income stream stopped and she is facing medical expenses and living expenses in the coming months.

If you know Annette at all, you know she would never ask for help, but if you know her, you also know that she’d give you her last dollar if you needed it. This world is a better place because Annette is in it, and we are so thankful that she survived this crisis. Now that the physical crisis is dissipating, we are hoping to help her through the financial crisis facing her in the immediate future. Anything you can donate will be appreciated.
